Bouncy, squishy clay

This new clay that I have, is so much fun. It's hard to find so I was super dooper excited when I received mine.

When it dries it's bouncy and squishy. It's so much fun. Kids can drop it and it'll bounce back. Well, I'm no kid but I've been having fun dropping it, uhmmm by accident.
I'm really excited to do more stuff with it. It's a polymer clay, air dries and non toxic so it's perfectly safe to use by anyone.

It's perfect for making toys, ornaments, cakes, squishy donuts, animals even jewelry. It's very light weight so it can be hung anywhere.

I made a ball to try it out and the bounce back is pretty good. Not only is it fun to work with but it's fun to play with as well. Kids and adults alike will find themselves squishing it between their fingers.

Plus, there's no risk of ever breaking it if  "accidentally" dropped. Love, love this clay. My last two ornaments that were posted I made using this squishy clay.

If anyone is interested in this clay let me know.

Who wants a tutorial?

So here I am doing something that I love. It takes hours and days to create these guys, sometimes even longer. At times I can start and finish at one go other times I have to let it go for a while and come back to it.

I will be making tutorials of some of my figures. But if anybody is interested in learning how to do some of my other figurines send me a comment and if I have enough people interested I'll make a tutorial.

Enjoy,
PoodlePomPom

Type of clay I use

I use mostly air dry clay but also polymer clay. I buy whatever brand I see available in Dubai. When I lived in the States I was able to buy any polymer clay and bake it. However since I've moved I'd had difficult time finding polymer clay. I used to visit Michael's all the time. I miss that store so much. I haven't been able to find any craft stores in Dubai. If anybody knows of any let me know. I've been considering buying my clay online. Recently I've asked friends to send me clay. I guess I'm desperate. I love to work with clay. In the middle of creating a creature I start laughing at their expressions. Things just happen unexpectedly.

They' re all handmade by me and given a name. My creatures have saved my life. It's a labor of love.
I love all my creations I can't discriminate but there is something for everybody. Maybe you'll be attached to one while your sister, friend or daughter might like a completely different one.

Thank you for visiting PoodlePomPom.

How I got started

I love everything crafty. I enjoy making things with my hands. For a while however I stopped being creative. Then at the start of 2011 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and realized that life should be lived and not postponed. During chemo my hands were numb and in pain. I wanted to find a way to help and heal myself not only my body but my soul and mind as well. I started playing with kids clay and noticed that my achy hands were actually feeling better. My mind was relaxed and I was able to concentrate only on what I was doing.  I've stuck with it ever since. I feel it's my therapy. I've come to realize that I cannot control anything in my life however if I do something that puts a smile on a person's face, I feel happy. That happy feeling is priceless. My gratitude goes out to the people that have supported me and enjoyed my creatures.

Leave a comment or request it'll make my day. Thank you for visiting, a prayer has been sent your way.
